While my main focus as a photographer is on weddings and couples, during the fall season I get many requests for family photo sessions, which are so much fun and a nice change. This session was extra special as I had met Erin and Justin (the couple with the sweet little girl) the previous year and photographed them with Erin’s side of the family. Since then I had gotten to know them quite well after doing other photo sessions for them and working with them during weddings and bridal shows too! They are the awesome people who started Reflecting Photos, which if you haven’t heard is an amazing fully animated and interactive photo booth that you can book for your wedding or special occasion. It really is a blast and I always look forward to seeing them!
When I first arrived at our location I was met by the grandma and grandpa of the group, who if you can believe it (I didn’t!) are the lovely couple shown in the first few photographs on this post! Don’t they look way too young to be grandparents of four?! I totally get it though, my mother had us quite young followed by my sister having her three kids young as well, and she doesn’t look nearly old enough either.
We ended up with such a gorgeous evening – I just love this location so much with all the water, greenery and that huge archway of trees it’s just stunning! And even though the little ones tried to give us a hard time (I left some of those in for giggles of course) we managed to capture some beautiful family memories. It’s so important to remember to schedule family photos regularly, and even I need a reminder to get my family together every now and then! I know how tricky it can be to get everyone together, but we all know life moves way too quickly, so let this be your reminder to get those family photos in!
